Panchthar, August 11: Three members of a family died after being buried in landslide at Phalelung rural municipality-3 in Panchthar district on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Bishnu Rai, his daughter Susmita Rai and granddaughter Pratha Rai.
A joint team of Nepal Police and Nepal Army has been putting efforts to recover the bodies, according to the District Police Office, Panchthar. The Rai family members were assigned to look after a power house of a hydropower project.
The landslide also swept away the house of Rai along with other eight houses which have been at risk of landslide, said Dipshan Chauhan, a local. Similarly, a person died after being buried in landslide at Phaleling rural municipality-2. The deceased has been identified as Trilochan BK, 80. The landslide also buried three houses at the area. Efforts are underway to shift the landslide victims of both the areas to safer places. RSS
